Many father’s end up being the victim of parental alienation. This is why they should hire a parental alienation lawyer. Not all lawyers are familiar with the devastating affects of parental alienation. Also, you want to ensure your family lawyer not only understands parental alienation but more importantly listens to your concerns.
Far too often lawyers are quick to dismiss the pain and heartache of a parent that is being alienated. My commitment to victims of parental alienation is that I will do my best to provide you with sound advice with a view to your concerns.
HOW MUCH WILL A LAWYER COST?
Since, parental alienation cases are difficult, there is no doubt that it can take months or even years in court and counselling. None of this comes cheap. Therefore, if you are an alienated parent you will need to determine how far you are willing to fight and how much you can afford. This isn’t because a lawyer wants to gouge you, its because parental alienation is something that doesn’t resolve over night.
PARENTAL ALIENATION TIPS
If you believe you are the victim of parental alienation you may try some of the following strategies. However, keep in mind in some cases the alienation can end up becoming very deeply ingrained into the mind of the child.
- Try to reach out to the child in a non-confrontational manner;
- Send very brief emails – with nothing of substance;
- Try your best to ensure that memorable moments are celebrated;
- Keep track of your child’s education;
- Try to make it to events;
- Use professional judgement if using social media.
- Never give up on our child!
There is certainly no formula in how to deprogram a child. What may work for one, will not necessarily work for another. If the custodial parent is routinely violating court ordered access you must act quickly in bringing the matter back to court.
If you are fortunate enough to have some contact with your child don’t use that time to bad mouth or disparage the other parent. Also, don’t try to get your child to admit on video how much they love you. Instead, you should use your limited time to build healthy memories with your child.
You should certainly document as much as you can in regards to the alienation.
You may also need to ensure that despite your custody arrangement that you live in closer proximity to your child.
